Delete your account
Applies to the Hido app on iOS and Android
Deleting your account is permanent. Your current plan, remaining time, balance and commission (if any) are lost and cannot be restored.
In Hido, the account you sign in with using a provider code (for example abcvpn) belongs to that provider. You can ask for it to be deleted in any of the ways below.
Option 1: Delete in the app
- Open Hido and go to the Account tab.
- Pick the account you want to delete and tap Details.
- Tap Delete account. The app shows what will be lost: plan, days left, balance.
- Tap Send code. A 6-digit code is sent to the account’s email and is valid for 10 minutes.
- Enter the code, tap Delete permanently and confirm. The account is deleted, and the app signs you out and removes the sign-in data from the device.
Codes can be sent at most once every 60 seconds and 5 times per hour; each code allows up to 5 wrong attempts.
Option 2: On your provider’s website
If your provider does not support deletion in the app yet, the Delete account page in Hido sends you to their website or support channel.
Option 3: Request by email
Email [email protected] from the account’s own email address and include the provider code. We will forward the request to the provider and reply to you.
What is deleted and what may be kept
| Deleted | May be kept |
|---|---|
| Your sign-in account, email, plan and expiry, balance, registered devices (HWID), and the session and configuration on your device | Transaction records and invoices the provider must keep under accounting and tax rules, for the period the law requires |
Hido does not store your account on Hido’s servers. Data on the device is removed when the account is deleted, when you sign out or when you uninstall the app.
Not using a provider code?
If you only add your own configurations, Hido creates no account for you. Removing the configurations in the Configs tab, or uninstalling the app, is enough.
